The LSC State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Permit (permit No. 0244741) requires Cornell to submit two Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs) to the NYS DEC with monthly sampling results for a variety of parameters in Cayuga Lake and in the Heat Exchange Facility's returned lake water. Table 1 summarizes the parameters, sampling locations and calculations involved in each DMR. Table 2 (pdf- use magnify tool to read), contains DMR data reported to date for the lake water and Table 3 (pdf- use magnify tool to read) contains DMR data reported to date for the Heat Exchange Facility's return flow. All historical DMR data can be accessed here, however the DMR data for the current permit term can also be accessed through the EPA's website at http://www.epa.gov/enviro/html/pcs/PCs_query_java.html. To find the Cornell LSC data on the EPA website follow these steps:

  1. Select "NPDES (Enter a partial or complete ID)" from the Facility Identification drop down list
  2. Enter the permit number (NY0244741)
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Permitted Discharges Information under the Output Selection option
  4. Click Search
  5. Click on the NPDES number (NY0244741) under Facility Information
  6. Make sure the Measurements and Violations report is selected
  7. Click Search
